To be awarded a Certificate of Fellowship of the EBNM it is necessary to fulfil the following prerequisites:
Candidates may enrol for and take the written exam (multiple choice questions) after they have completed at least 2 years of the training requirements necessary for their specialist qualification by their national body. According to UEMS regulations, however, they cannot undergo the oral examination, until their final year of training if being trained in a UEMS member of affiliate member country or for non UEMS countries until for a minimum of three years after having received their specialist qualification.
Preparation session
A “preparation session” for all those who are considering taking the exam is organised with the aim to make candidates feel more confident about the format and contents of the exam. This session is free of charge and will take place on May 1, 2010 in Vienna at the EANM Secretariat. To attend this session it is necessary to register via the web site.
Venue
The next examination will take place in Vienna at the EANM Secretariat and oral exam retakes (to be confirmed) during the EANM’10 Congress, which will be held in Vienna, Austria. If you require a visa for Austria, please ensure you apply for this in good time. The UEMS/EBNM Secretariat (Mr. Andreas Andiel, office@uems.eanm.org) would be pleased to issue an invitation letter accordingly.
It will consist of a written part (multiple choice questions) and an oral examination. Both parts of the exam can be taken in the same year or in different years. For the oral part, in case of difficulties with oral expression in English, candidates are allowed to ask for the presence of an additional examiner who is familiar with the candidate’s language.
John Buscombe from the United Kingdom chairs the Examination Board of Nuclear Medicine.
